Quando Delirio.NET ha contattato Trevor Brown per richiedergli un’intervista, è arrivata una risposta inusuale: “Odio fare interviste – mi prendono troppo tempo e ho già detto tutto ciò che avevo da dire sulla mia arte – penso che sia arrivato il momento che siano gli altri a scrivere di me (ma non lo fanno mai)”. E così, Delirio.NET sceglie di far parte di coloro che scrivono di questo geniale artista. Geniale e provocatorio. Definito “uno dei tesori più grandi dell'arte britannica”. L’innovatore dell'arte pop-erotica giapponese lavora e vive a Tokyo dall'inizio degli anni '90. Immerso nella cultura nipponica, ne assorbe le influenze culturali e visionarie e le rielabora, creando un'arte originale, a tratti delirante, sempre affascinante. Produce copertine, illustrazioni, libri, usa diversi stili artistici, è instancabile.

Bambine e orsacchiotti apparentemente innocenti calati in atmosfere sinistre e spesso inquietanti. Un universo fatto di lolite piene di lividi e manichini. Candide bamboline piene di lividi, imbavagliate, legate da stretti lacci e sezionate. Trevor Brown è un provocatore che con la sua arte mette a nudo le contraddizioni della società. Lo humour nero è parte integrante delle sue opere. Trevor si ispira e ama Suehiro Maruo, Romain Slocombe, James Ballard e il suo Crash, i Chapman Brothers e i loro corpi assemblati. Uno degli art-book più famosi di Brown è Medical fun, che raccoglie le sue opere di "medical art". Ma non è l’unico. In Temple of Blasphemy sono presenti disegni in bianco e nero dalla "medical porn art" di "Graphic Autopsy" alle illustrazioni per "L'Anticristo" di Nietzche, dai disegni erotici di japan girls alle produzioni porno, sado-maso e bondage della serie "Mania". Il suo ultimo lavoro è Li'l miss sticky kiss, copertina rosa, un dolce volto di bambina con un occhio nero in evidenza. When Delirio.NET contacted Trevor Brown asking him an interview, he sent us an unusual answer: “I hate doing interviews now tho, sorry - they take me too long to do and already I've said everything about my art that i have to say - I think it's now the turn for other people to write about me (but they never do)”. So Delirio.NET chooses to be among those who prefer to write about this talented artist. Brilliant and provocative. He’s defined “one of British art's greatest treasures”. The innovator of Japanese erotic pop art works and lives in Tokyo since the early Nineties. Completely dipped into the Japanese background, he absorbs the cultural influences and traditional images, and then works them out again, creating an original art, at times delirious, always fascinating. He's tirelessly producing covers, illustrations, books, using the most various artistic styles.

Apparently innocent little girls and teddy bears let down in sinister and often alarming atmospheres. A universe made of battered lolitas and crash test dummies. Candid dolls full of bruises, gaged, tied from tightened laces and dissected. He’s a provoker, and with his art he reveals the contradictions of the society. There is a sort of black humour in his works of art. Trevor is inspired and loves Suehiro Maruo, Romain Slocombe, James Ballard and his Crash, the Chapman Brothers and their assembled bodies. One of Brown’s most famous art-books is Medical fun, that it collects his works of "medical art". But it’s not the only one. In Temple of Blasphemy there are black and white drawing from Graphic Autopsy’s "medical porn art", illustrations for the Nietzche’s Antichrist, erotic drawings about japan girls and porno, sado-maso and bondage productions of Mania serie. His last job is Li'l miss sticky kiss, pink cover, the sweet face of a child, and the viewer attention so immediately caught by his black eye.
